The blockchain-based crypto world is difficult for the mainstream user to enter, not only because of its technical challenges,  but the speculative pump&dump  game as well.

I will introduce a brand new world , where the name of the game is WIN-WIN for all the players.

The longest tail: user-generated currencies & the decentralization of value
Galia Benartzi – Co-Founder, Business Development, Bancor Protocol

Bancor is enabling the long tail of user-generated currencies to emerge by solving the largest problem they face: illiquidity. The Bancor protocol standardizes Smart Tokens which hold other tokens in reserve, directly through their smart contracts. These reserves serve as a price-discovery mechanism and guarantee continuous liquidity at an algorithmically calculated rate. The Internet shows us that the long tail can be 2-3 orders of magnitude greater than the hits, and we expect to see billions worth of value created collectively when anyone can easily make and exchange a viable currency.

For future generations, this will be a natural and core aspect of their daily lives. At the same time, more and more of these services are controlled by a diminishing number of companies, resulting in a future of less innovation and less choice. Decentralization provides a sustainable way forward. Through advances in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, Kik plans to create a decentralized ecosystem of digital services through four steps.

Creating New Possibilities of Value Through Token Design
Jake Vartanian – Founder, Cryptodex
With the sudden influx of token launches, very little innovation has taken place in the design of token models and ecosystems.  While the lack of variation may produce the same result of the offering party, i.e. capitalization, recent launches such as TokenCard  and Bancor Protocol have shown that new possibilities in the design of the token model itself can both return and create new value for the investor or contributor, as first proposed by Friedrich von Hayek in The Denationalization of Money. This talk will both explore some recent innovations and experiments, as well as address a broad overview of the philosophy of value creation in token design itself.

Biography

Disintermediating the Capital Markets
Dan Doney – CEO, SeCurrency

London, New York, Hong Kong represent tremendous wealth concentration. This concentration is made possible by the critical role these ecosystems play in supporting trusted access to capital markets – the engines of the world economy. But these centers are characterized by closed trust circles, arcane processes that can only be navigated by “who you know”, and lack of transparency. As a result, many opportunities of merit can’t get access to credit especially in the developing world. Additionally, “small holdings” investors don’t have access to many high yield opportunities – widening the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots”.

But blockchain and the internet of value are changing this paradigm…quickly. New models (such as Securrency’s) are emerging to efficiently match opportunity to capital globally without the need for financial centers or intermediaries. In this session, we’ll investigate each function financial centers have historically performed and identify how these functions are performed more effectively and openly via the blockchain revolution. We’ll discuss: transaction assurance, risk mitigation and liquidity, opportunity curation, and auditing & credit rating. We’ll wrap up with a look into the impact of a global value exchange where access is instant, efficient, ubiquitous, and secure.

Governance & Scaling Panel
Adlai Chandrasekhar (Moderator), Dr. Aviv Zohar, Meni Rosenfeld, Sarah Wiesner

Bitcoin and other open source protocols have been revolutionary in allowing parties to interact without having to trust or have counterparty risk.  These protocols however to scale have many different interests who must come to a consensus on the means and methods to do so.  Within Bitcoin itself the debate between groups has been over to scale with Segwit, to Hardfork, or to never raise the block limit at all.   These scaling and governance issues are coming to a head as other protocols take root within the community.  How can these issues be solved?  Will Bitcoin scale before other protocols take significant market share? Join our panelists and engage in the conversation!

Future of Work: Shared Workspace for Tech Community
Dmitry Faller – Researcher at The Department of Nonlinear Processing Modelling, The Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics

Coworking is gaining popularity – fast. The demand is unprecedented and fueling the growth of large providers in major markets. The industry appeal in an increasingly millennial and entrepreneurial workforce is undeniable. Coworking has become part of a larger trend of flexible office ecosystems, and the market has plenty of room for new coworking model hybrids, such as Primalbase. Traditionally slow to change, the commercial real estate industry is gradually shifting from being a space provider to creating experience and community for the next generation. Building upon the well-established business model of shared workspaces, the Primalbase project transforms traditional office rental into a new-generation community-based ecosystem where one can share, sell or rent out high-quality office spaces using Ethereum and Waves-based digital tokens. Primalbase tokens not only serve a practical function, but also have actual inherent value based on a real physical product: it is this that makes Primalbase stand out from other projects utilizing crypto tokens.
